Chinese Take Out From Home!

This is a low glycemic, healthy sugar alternative to take out Chinese food... you'll love it and easier than you think!

I get cravings for Chinese food frequently... but I do feel like I react to MSG and all the sodium otherwise that is showcased in the average restaurant meal. This is amplified by the fact that I have family members who have to watch their blood sugar... and I want to provide meals that ease their systems while tasting amazing! I learned about Liva recently and loved what they had to offer! Raw date sugar! Seems so simple yet new! I tried this and found that the taste was pure... sometimes sugar alternatives have an after taste that concern me for their natural properties.... the organic designation won me over as well! Any ways I have and will use this for several dishes so stay tuned... I love this product! Lets get to the menu!

Hormone and antibiotic free pork tenderloin is where we start this culinary journey... but we will do it two ways... both as boneless dry garlic pork and Asian Pork Tenderloin.

I made this whole meal glycemic friendly.... thanks to Liva Raw Date sugar. It is natural and organic and because it's a fruit, it does not spike blood sugar like other sugars. This is important to me because I do have family members with diabetes, and I love to show them the great food you can make without sacrificing flavour. The recipe is simple.... 1/2 cup of soy sauce, 3 Tbsp of sesame oil, 2 Tbsp garlic powder, 2 Tbsp of ginger powder and 2 Tbsp of Liva raw date sugar. Place all ingredients in a ziplock bag with a pork tenderloin to marinade! Leave for as long as possible, at least 30 minutes.

I've made pork garlic dry ribs before... and I used the same sauce again here! It was delicious and easy! I barely fry them to make them healthier and they are baked instead... promise you don't sacrifice flavour.... mostly because the marinade for them is better than any pub....you'll ever go to check it out here>>>>>>

The broccoli is the easiest part of this meal! You cut it up to the size you want... you boil a kettle of water... you pour the water over the broccoli and cover with saran wrap... this simple process cooks your broccoli al dente perfectly every time and you don't need to look at it again... a super win for a meal like this where there are several components.

This meal can do without this addition... but if you follow me you'll know I love oyster mushrooms.... bake some oyster mushrooms with ground pepper and sesame oil at 350 degrees in the oven, give it 20 minutes! This will add to the meal, trust me!

Now for the chow mein... first cut and sauté some celery, onion, baby corn and shredded carrot.. cook in sesame oil and sweet soy sauce... only as much as you need.

Pick wet chow mein noodles... the dried version takes longer and doesn't taste as good as fresh!! Once the veg is done add in the noodles!

Add in several Tbsp of pre-made hoisin sauce! (I know, its a cheat but so good and look at all the aspects of this meal... cheats are required... I'm only human lol )

You're done!!!! Plate this out... it was honestly one of my favourite meals! Authentic in flavour but with a healthier twist!!
